| The SS represents the culmination of some 40 years of Ducati building cafe racers,
an era now superseded by it's 'arse-in-the-air' rockets. This machine still makes a
great deal of sense today. The riding position is sporting but comfortable, the engine
is much torquier than many modern units, and the handling is still sublime. However,
all of this pales into insignificance when you hear it start. A sound that can only be
a Ducati big-valve twin, more Wagner than Bologna. The perfect partner to the 996. | |
